Remember that run in with the law story....well here it is.
Me and my best friend went out one night and had a little too much to drink. Needless to say I locked my keys in the car along with my cell phone. I was to drunk to worry about it that night, so I just left my car there. Woke up Sunday at here house and she went to take me to my car. It had been towed. So, found out where it had been towed to and went there. They were closed because it was Sunday. I had to have my cell phone back for work and it could not wait. So, I climbed the fence and broke into my own car to get my phone. Obviously the police did not see my side of the story on this one.

Some car makers include a plastic "key card" when you buy it new. As long as you keep it on your person and not in a bag or purse that was also locked in, it opens the door. It does not start the car, however- it is plastic. Interesting idea, huh? Other than that, you can just borrow a stranger's cell phone, use a payphone, and have someone you know take you home to get your spare set- like my Nana did when she locked herself out. I had to go rescue her! She has an Audi, and I heard even locksmiths can't get into those. As long as you don't have an Audi, you should be able to find a way in.

I thought that I locked them in my car... called a locksmith... paid $50 to get him to open my car and my keys weren't in there. The next day, I found them in the bottom of my backpack. Just before I was going to ride my bicycle to work, I heard that familiar jingle coming from it as I was throwing it on my back. Another time, I was out of town in a company vehicle on personal business, which was forbidden by the company "rules". I had stopped at a grocery store to use the bathroom. I really hate when that happens, but, for some reason, I just keep doing it.

Yes, all while the car was running. I called my dad from inside a store and lucky for me the locks on the door were old and my dads car key worked in it. After that I had the locks replaced.

I borrowed someones cell phone and called my sister who had another key to my car.
I try to be prepared for stupid mistakes.
my sister has the keys to my car and i have the keys to her car just to keep ourselves out of trouble when we do something stupid like locking one of our keys in the car.

Yes. I picked the lock, cuz it's happened to me more than once. I don't recommend this as a solution for everyone though, lol!
