What are her interests or hobbies? Good start. Don't get her anything to do with cleaning. My hubby always makes me a card and includes a poem. A letter to her that says how important she is to you, how much you appreciate what she does and how much you love your life together goes a long way in bonus points. If you're up the same time in the morning each day, get up earlier and make her breakfast. Wake her up with a kiss and happy birthday. Do something out of the ordinary. Hopefully she's not wrapped up in material things, but there are inexpensive items that can be picked up like a family ring with both your birthstones or stones of your children.
Diamonds are nice, but a loving husband is priceless.

man dude the cheap gifts are the ones remember so remember that. Why dont you write her something and just plan a night where you tell her to get all fancy and cook her a cheap stir fry. Take her out side talk to her under the stars and turn the love nest into a baby oil and candle fest. I say hit up the grocery story and dollar store and you are looking at the most thirty bucks. Anything that makes someone's life easier is the best anyway. Screw diamonds and good luck. hope I helped.

I always prefer when my husband does something out of the ordinary for me for my birthday. Flowers from the store is too easy, go out and pick her some flowers. Cook her favorite dinner or take her to the park and toss around a football (or baseball, whatever!) and have a picnic.
It's not about how much money you spend it's that you thought enough about her to plan a special day for her. Those little things are what we remember the most!
Good Luck :)

I know something that will make any Wife happy...start out by
placing a red rose on her pillow...write out little coupons for stuff you'll do for her.... clean the house for her that day...run her a hot bath with rose petals in it and candles all around the tub and soft music... put candles allover the House and cook for her and if you cant cook then get her favorite food... just basicly spoil her rotten... and best of all...get her a ring you can go to a pawnshop and get them pretty cheap...have them clean it up..or get her a certificate for a spa..so she can spoil herself... make her feel like a queen for a day...

make dinner for her but set it up on the lounge floor in a picnic style...put candles around and petals thrown around the area you are going to sit by, also put a sign on the front door saying that she should follow the roses which will take her to the lounge kind of like a path way and she should pick up each rose as she goes on. Then run her, as well as you a hot bubble bath and relax!!!
Don’t forget to buy her chocolates
enjoy

Cook her dinner, give her a massage and let her choose what she wants to do. If she wants to stay home, problem solved. If she wants to go out to a movie or something, they don't cost so much. Just make her feel like she's the most important person in the world to you, because she is. It's her day.

On Valentines Day money was really tight at our place,
My hubby cleaned the house and made me a *wonderful* meal, complete with wine, candles, a red rose, and soft music.
He followed it up with our *favorite* romatic comedy on dvd (Notting Hill) and chocolate covered strawberries, and a very sweet card.
If that isn't something she would like,
jewlery works, you can pick up some very nice earrings or maybe a bracelet inexpensively. Even places like Wal-Mart have nice jewlery at inexpensive prices.
I hope that helps!

The full body massage idea is great! Spoil her on that day... make dinner (her favourite meal) candle light n all... give her a bath (full body massage)... give her a rose n earrings or a bracelet!
Or if you're adventurous... make a rose petal trail leading to the bedroom n show her how much you love her in your own special way ; )

I'm in the same boat and I got mine balloons and flowers that I delivered to her at work along with a gift certificate for an hour massage. I think I spent around 85 bucks.
