I have an ex that had someone who use to beat her up, take her money, stole from her, couldn't keep a job and slept with some of her friends. Come to find out she cheated on me with her. I'm a professional with a career, a provider and don't beat my girlfriends. What's up with that?

Unfortunately, there are always going to be people that make bad choices in mates.
If you find yourself consistently attracted to that type of person, you need to figure out WHY or you will be doomed to repeats of that kind of relationship. (Where the gf goes back to the troublemaker.)

I think it has to do with living dangerously. Predictability and security or spontaneous and never a dull moment. Whats a girl to do? IT DOESN'T mean they're attracted to men! It really means that some women are used to being abused or treated badly by someone (a family member...) So they stick to what they're used to, and it's very hard for them to break free from that, especially if they don't know their worth yet. AND lots of 'dyke' women are NOT abusive.

Your ex is messed up. I would wonder why nice lesbians, as opposed to bad dykes, are attracted sometimes to basket cases like that.
