The clear liquid is colostrum. It is the first super strong milk that baby gets after the birth.

Some women leak colostrum very early on in their pregnancy, many leak in the third trimester and others may never leak at all but have no problems nursing after the birth. All of the above is normal.

Squeezing your breasts a bit is NOT going to put you into preterm labor. You'd need to stimulate your nipples for at least 20 minutes to get contractions going and even then, labor won't come unless your body is ready for it. I've breastfed older siblings through the pregnancies of two younger siblings. A little squeeze here and there to satisfy your curiousity won't hurt anything.

I was about 16 weeks when I started leaking - a few weeks later I had to wear a bra and nursing pads to bed or I leaked all over the place.

Squeezing it out won't cause you to go into labour at all - as a previous poster said, it takes nipple stimulation, and you can't squeeze out colostrum that way - you have to go further back than that. Besides, if you're only halfway it'll make you sore before it causes any contractions. I used to do that every night in an effort to cut down on the leaking while I was rolling around trying to get comfy.

It can be anytime during pregnancy, but usually this happens around the second trimester.

Personally, I haven't had any leakage and I'm 37 weeks. Also, don't mess with your boobs too much as nipple stimulation can cause you to go into labor and if you're not far enough along that's a bad thing.

I'm 21 weeks I've had that from week 18. ALSO hormone imbalances can cause that. If you are having it happen and you are not pregnant "and pretty FAR along" call your doctor.

i was only 4 months when I started leaking. It's called colstrum or "premilk" It's perfectly normal to have it start at anytime or not all. Just get some nursing pads to protect your clothes and bras. Dont squeeze it out though my doc said it can cause preterm labor..

I was 7 months pregnant with my first when I started to leak and I was 4 months pregnant with my second. Not good for you to play with your nipples though b/c it can bring on early contractions.
