It's probably a worn out laser gear on the inside of the drive... it's a $10 part if you can fix it yourself. See the following page for more info on the clicking noise and read errors:

The same thing happened to my sons, I had to send it back to Sony for a repair (at no charge). You'll have to play your new game at a buddies house.

I it's clicking then that suggetss it's something mechanical as opposed to something to do with teh software of the machine.
I'd get it checked out.

there are three options
1) Open it by your self
2)throw it in the garbage
3)Return it where u bought from
