We have a few ideas around seeing Pompeii, boat trips, Ischia, etc but what would be really great is if anyone know of any places that do nice package day trips, for example in a limo to Pompeii then a boat trip to Positano landing back at Sorrento....?

Anyone know of any websites that offer different packages? we have to be back late afternoon as we have a celebration meal booked for the evening.

I living in Sorrento for a few years.

GREAT: Boat trip to the Island of CAPRI , the AMALFI coastline drive and a visit to Positano. I think the drive is cooler than a boat ride. Unforgettable experiences.

DON'T go to Pompeii - it's so boring. Also Vesuvius, just appreciate from far... it's too foggy up there to see anything.

What about a day at the Hotel Caruso in Ravello? It is in the most amazing setting and is a favourite of the rich and famous - a very famous picture of the med (with an olive tree in the forefront) was taken from its gardens.

The food is amazing and its a really special day out or you could go there for the evening - skipper a yacht from Sorrento, stop off at Positano for lunch, get off at Almalfi and then drive up to have dinner at the Hotel Caruso? You could stay there for the night and then drive or sail back to Sorrento.

I dont have any particular websites I'm afraid. Hotel Caruso does organise things like that, so they could help. The Italian tourist board in the UK would probably be able to recommend good limo / yacht hire companies.

If you're staying in Sorrento, hop on the ferry to Capri. It makes a wonderful day trip and Capri is soooo pretty.

Take the hovercraft to Capri and treat your Dad to lunch there. That will leave you plenty of time to get back in time for dinner. It won't be cheap but , like you say, it is a special day for him.
Have a lovely day with your dad.
