There is a Place called McLeodganj in India it is where the Holy Dalai Lama resides. It is the most peaceful place I've ever been to and anytime in my life if I were asked to live there I would move there in a heartbeat! when i was a kid, i used to go sit on the section of levy stretching south of Monroe and look out over the fields of corn, soybeans, and cotton that stretched out for miles. i liked it best during the fall, when the weather was cooler and the crops had all been picked- nothing but the brown, dead plants left. it's the most beautiful and desolate feeling, sitting there- the sky is as blue as a robin's egg there and every once in awhile, you'll see a puffy cloud float by. looking at the dead crops and the big blue sky, it's like you're on a precipice, staring down into the wasteland, an inevitable death- and the unknown blue beyond it. i don't know why, but that always made me feel calm and happy.
