Yes, the biggest search engines use bots to crawl through every single domain and cache every single page. They're on a cycle... and eventually, when it gets back to a page that's no longer there, it's removed from the cache.

However, this takes a while to do... so, if there's information that could have been found by google, that you no longer want found, you might have to ask them to remove it yourself, instead of waiting for the bots to do it for you.

Yes it is eventually cleared. In fact some search engines have a way to request that the information be cleared.

But I found that a better way to clear the information is to change the website where the information was and delete the information but leave the website. They rescan the website and save the "new" website erasing the old. Just deleting the old website seems to leave the information in the search engine longer.

yahoo i don't know about, but i know google caches stuff (keeps a copy) for a period of time - not sure how long. but generally after, say, a year (at most), it's probably gone for good
