Alas, after Shirley Feeney married and moved out, Laverne deFazio eventually went back to Milwaukee and the Schotz Brewery, where one of those bottles she was always ignoring on the assembly line turned out to be a terrorist bomb. It exploded, rupturing a tank which promptly overflowed, getting every dog and pigeon in downtown Milwaukee very very drunk (and a few Schotz employees, too). Laverne pled no contest to (trumped up, frankly) reckless endangerment charges and did some community service time. She now lectures around the country and her first book, /Don't Drink Every Little Thing You See Flowing in the Street/, has been on the New York Times Bestseller List for 7 weeks.
Squiggy has mostly disappeared, but Lenny joined Spinal Tap.

I'm not sure if you are talking about the actresses that played the characters or the show itself.
The show was cancelled shortly after Cindy Williams (Shirley) married and became pregnant. She left the show because she was disheartened that Penny was favored above her and to have her child, leaving Penny Marshall (Laverne) alone to carry the show by herself. It only lasted a season after that. On the air, Shirley married Walter Meany and moved out. It went off the air in 1983.
The actresses, however, continue to endure. Cindy Williams has a cult following of sorts, guest starring in television shows (she recently did "8 Simple Rules..."), starring in theater, and doing the occasional movie here and there. Penny Marshall is an industry within herself. She became a director, directing movies such as "Big", "A League of Their Own", and "the Preacher's Wife". She is considered a major Hollywood player, and she throws her celebrity around every now and then (most recently on "Entourage").

Laverne is a director now and she does cameo's every once in awhile. Shirley is on Lifetime or Hallmark every couple of years. If your talking about good old fashioned sitcom's like that show they are long gone. But keep the faith everything goes in cycles ,,,,
