I'm not sure about specific laws, but family members may be able to go in front of a judge and have her ordered for treatment.

Well, I live in Kentucky(unfortunately) and someone I know tried it. They were committed for 72 hours. But, if she's of age, it may be different. The person I knew was underage, so it was up to the parents.

can't the next of kin have her committed. maybe declared incompentant to make her own decisions. whatever the underlying problem is she has to want to get help before any type of help would do her any good. also these failed attempts might be a cry out for help. most of the time if someone is really serious about ending their life they will plan it out and make sure they are succesfull. there are too many ways to end your life and failing 4 times seems out there. i think she wants the help. good luck

Typically, crisis mental health centers would hold someone 72 hours against their will without a court order.

Why don't you file to be her legal guardian, and then you can petition the court to have her committed and get her some help.
