I really don't care where these call centres are, but if they don't know what they're talking about, they might as well be on the moon.

I've once too often got an answer like "We don't have George Street in Edinburgh on our system, are you sure you don't mean Birmingham?" when calling 118118. Sorry, George St. is a major street in Edinburgh. If you can't find it, get another job.

Yes because when I have to give my surname I have to spell it, which I need to but if the call centre is not in England I have to re-spell it even 2 or 3 times. It's not as if I don't do the usual i.e. s for sugar etc.

I have no problem speaking to anyone from any country, as long as they speak the same language and can actually understand what i am talking about. It's a shame because they get as frustrated as you do! surely you should know about the job that you are doing, that used to be the case anyway!

One of the problems with the off-shore call centres is for them to understand your language, especially when you're dealing with technical problems.

And it must be difficult for the call centre staff who have to deal with different accents, from cornish to scottish via Newcastle.

And they keep apologising for nothing..

Don't care
Do it online
I do like the way foreign operators watch coronation street and are trained to talk about the weather!

Neither is "better" It all depends on the personnel and the training that they get. The rest is just location.
