If wages are higher, then the cost of living is higher. Go and check the Census reports and that will tell you income to cost of living to population etc.... its very informative. Google search Census Reports and it will come up first.

The only time a business over pays like that is when the workforce is tight. So if you go there and take that job I guarantee you that you will be doing the work of at least 3 people

How much more expensive is it to live in Edmonton... perhaps this is why Wally World is paying $14/hr.

Check on insurance rates, apartment costs, fuel, food etc...

The cost of living may be higher there ,so check out the prices of different things before you move. You may end up worse if the cost is higher.
