The alternator wire (large wire coming off the alternator) was broken, I repaired that, had all other electrics working before, now only head lights.

It is quite possible that there is a short or broken wire somewhere in the electrical system. Or there may be a fuse blown.

I would check all fuses first.

If not a fuse you will need an electrical diagram of the vehicle and then you will need to trace all wiring to find where the break or short is.

The head lights don't go through the accessory switch. The large wire is usually the wire that charges the battery, when you say broke, do you mean that it overheated and came loose from the connector? You need to look for a circuit breaker. Your ownership manual should list all fuses and breakers.

The wires on the back of the alternator have to set up a magnetic field. They actually touch or run close in the wiring harness. If you've changed that you will have problems. Get a new harness.
