Not sure but you will have to bear in mind this is not a child but not a full adult... At that age is when most will loose their virgintiy and rebel out and a kid needing adoption will have a more stressful time and push more and therefore need far more support.

Between trhe ages of 16-18 more like 21 they will need you more then any time in their life other then as a helpless baby

I'm 21, and have been adopted twice due to a screwed up family...but am considering being adopted by my grandparents to get my name back in the family and for inheritance reasons. They can legally adopt me at 21, so i'm sure 15 or 16 is not an issue.

You have to be over 18 to adopt a child and meet the criterias of adopting.

Anyone under the age of 18 is considered a minor/child

The "child" can be 40 and you can still adopt him/her. I looked into this because after we are married, my fiancee wants to adopt my son. He's 11, but doing research I learned that a person can be adopted at any age.

you can adopt a child once you are over 18.

The legal age of consent is sixteen, adoption can be considered at anytime up to that age but not including that age.
