A thesaurus is a book that you use to find other words to describe something. But what's another word for that book? To answer your question, I headed over to our Thesaurus category, where I found a listing for Roget's Thesaurus. In the search bar, I typed in the word "thesaurus," and here is what I found:
"dictionary, vocabulary, lexicon, index, glossary, thesaurus, gradus, delectus, concordance."
All of those words would do in a pinch, but I think the best word for thesaurus is probably just thesaurus.

THESAURUS has two meanings, so there may be at least two possibilities.
1. A book of synonyms, often including related and contrasting words and antonyms.
synonym = "synonymicon" (or you might use a 'brand name', e.g., "look it up in your Roget's" just as you might use "Webster's" as a general term for dictionary)
2. A book of selected words or concepts, such as a specialized vocabulary of a particular field, as of medicine or music.
synonym: "lexicon"
