A pair of my pink knickers went in with the whites, mostly towels so not bothered about them, but my husbands white shirt has gone a pale pink colour - how can I get it back to white?

I cant leave the house to buy anything as Im hobbling round with a bad leg, any ideas?

Have you got some gentle bleach? Something like Ace, which is specifically designed for bleaching clothes (rather than the bleach you put down the toilet). Follow the instructions on that, and it should help dye it back. Bear in mind, it might not get back the pristine white colour, ever.
If I were in your situation, I'd 'fess up, and tell him he needed a new shirt, anyway!

Please, please, please DO NOT use bleach. Even a gentle bleach could turn it pale yellow and mixed with the pink your gonna end up with a yukky orangy colour! There is a product called E-cover whitening powder that is the best you can buy. My local morrisons sells it but you may have to shop around. The instructions tell you to put a little bit of power in with your normal powder but I put just this powder in when I am doing a white wash. I had a pair of cream trousers with a curry stain on so I used this, the stain came out and the trousers are now white instead of cream. I really dont know whats in this stuff but it's incredible. I know you cant leave the house but could your husband not do a little bit of shopping for you. I bet washing powder isn't the only thing you need! If he wont go for the washing powder, tell him his shirt will have to stay pink!!!!!

Oh, I've done that loads of times!!! Put the shirt in bleach leave it for at least 24 hours and it will be brilliant white again! Honestly!! Alternatively, tell him that the latest fashion for men is pink shirt! Recently I have seen many men with pink shirts and they are not gay at all.

Woops! I was going to say that Dylon do a colour remover but if you can't get out of the house, try a little bleach in a cool wash. Good luck!

Oh you poor thing did you gets loads of verbal...that's happened to me before usually white socks into pink. Try bleach then back in to the machine on fab soft to kill the smell of bleach and a final rinse. Hope it works.

There is a product you can buy in the supermarket - I cant remember what it is called, but its something like "Wash/Run Off" and comes in a box. It is found with things like Vanish spray and starch in the laundry section. It is meant to *reverse* the run and return things to their original colour. Never tried it, but it is probably worth a go.

This is going to sound a little funny but dont laugh too hard until you try it. Boil the clothing in a pot of milk. Depending on how pink it is you may need to rinse and repeat.

You really are best with a stain remover, but bleach would work provided the shirt is really 100% white (no coloured stitching etc).

There is a product sold at WalMart in the Rit Dye section specially made to removed dye accidentally transferred to other items. I've never tried it, though.
GOOD LUCK!!

I did the same thing 35 yrs ago. If its cotton mixture try bicarbonate of soda solution leave to soak for a while. But it doesn`t work on all fabrics
