My parents are leaving for vacation soon and they want me to stay at my boyfriends house while they are gone. I will meet them 2 weeks later so I have to stay there for 2 weeks. The problem is that me and his Stepmom do not get along very well so I am not sure if I am doing the right thing. Please help me decide...?

Well... I don't get along to well with my Fiancee's Mother all that much either, but sometimes I have no choice but to be with her. My best advise to you is to just suck it up and try and be polite and respectful to her. I mean, you don't have to like her or anything.. just try and get along.. (to her face at least...) I can't stand my fianee's mother but what chouce do I have than to at least try ti have a semi-peacful existance with her.... especially if you and your boyfriend are serious... well then you have to figure that sh'e gonna be family someday and you should maybe try and get along somewhat or if anything avoid spending too much time with her....Well I wish you the best of luck... I know it's tough but I'm sure you'll be ok!

There are 3 vital questions you have to answer:
1. Are you over 18?
2. Do your parents trust your BF that much to allow you to stay with his family while they are away?
3. Do you love your BF that much to trust him in your 2 weeks stay with his family?

If you reply YES to all 3 questions above, I think the stepmom will just be a minor problem you can live with.

So what is the deal with the parental units leaving their child behind to stay at the boyfriends house? Hmmm not an unreasonable request if the young lady is capable of returning to her own home when the environment gets to hostile. If they don't believe you can take care of yourself then they should help you make arrangements to stay in a safe non-confrontational environment. If they can't do that hen they need to take you with them the whole time. If it were my choice I would not stay at his house with the alternative parental unit(also known as the step mother) This makes you wonder what people were thinking when they decided to have children in my eyes they must always come first irregardless if you have limited time with your spouse you decided to become parents then be parents! last thought stepmothers are like mother in laws they always best when they are somebody Else's. reaper out..........

Well if you do not have any other friends to stay with it is time to put your differences to side and get along, maybe this is the opportunity for you two to settle the differences and move on!

Advise your parents you are not comfortable staying at your boyfriend's house. Explain to them why.

This might be a good opportunity for you to get to know her better and perhaps form a better relationship with her.

But just in case it doesn't work, have a 'Plan B' ready.

Good luck!
