I have just taken a test and its come out negative. I took a First Response one 14 days after sex and then a ClearBlue Test today (4 1/2 weeks after) - both neg. I am on the pill and take 3 packs then a break. I had sex on the 18th pill of first pack and i am not due my period for another 15 days when i have my break. I had been getting numerous symptoms so im disappointed :-( If its not pregnancy god knows what it is!

Thats a real bummer for you, it does make me wonder though, why are you in the pill if you want to get pregnant?

i don't know what it is, but you sound as though you are gutted that you are not pregnant. I f you want to become pregnant you need to stop taking the pill right now. If you suspect you could be you need to stop like yesterday!! Perhaps the pill could stop the pregnancy hormone from showing up on a test, i don't know.
One thing is clear, you need to see a doctor as soon as you possibly can, and have them explain very clearly how to use the pill, if you are taking three packs and then a break it is unlikely you are pregnant, as the pill should be doing its job. If you are fairly new to the pill (within the last 6 months) then your symptoms could just be your body getting used to the hormones. Are you sure that you are supposed to take three packs before you have a break? Sounds like you will only be having one bleed every three months, that in itself could cause symptoms.
Please, forget the tests for now, go and see your doctor, explain what you have said above and take their advice to the letter. The pill is 99.9% effective, if you are taking it, it is really unlikely that you are pregnant, but please please go and find out for sure.

As long as you have been taking the pills correctly then there is no reason for you to be pregnant. Although no contraception is 100% it is unlikely for you to become pregnant while taking the pill, though it can happen. If I were you I would go to the Dr who will, if necessary, do a blood test which is the most accurate way of telling if you are pregnant or not.

If your on the pill how do you think you can get pregnant? many things can change the way your body works, stress, diet even the weather. So if you really what to have a baby stop taking the pill all together, stop thinking about it ,and it may happen in time, BUT, THINK ABOUT IT why are you on the pill and do you really what to bring a child into this world because if you did you wouldn't be on the pill. THINK FIRST

Go to the doc. They can do a blood test to confirm or deny a pregnancy. And if not pregnant then I would adjust the pill and maybe not do the 3 mths at a time before a break.

It's probably a result of taking the 3 pill packs together if you just started doing this.
If you really want to be pregnant, I suggest you call your GYN and discuss stopping the pill at your next break.

If you want to get pregnant stop taking the pill. It takes at least 28 days for the effects of the pill to get out of your system completely and do not rely to much on home pregnancy tests they are not as good as you thing

I do know how you feel, i feel like that every month. I get hormonal symptoms with my periods so maybe thats what it is? You say you take 3 packs to help with heavy periods so its poss you have a problem with them. I have endometriosis and when i am due on i feel sick, sore boobs, dizzy and funny taste in my mouth. Have you been tested for endometriosis and stuff? You can still get a negative result when you are pregnant, wait a few more days and maybe test again. mention all this when you see your doctor. Take care x

I'm not sure what your "numerous symptoms" might be...if it's morning sickness...check when you take the pill. Taking birth control in the morning can mimic morning sickness. I had to take mine at night before bed, or it would come right back up. If you're not due for another 15 days, why are you worried that you might be pregnant? You're not late, so why the worry?

I know a lot of people think that the pill is great for prevention of pregnancy, but I am the result of the pill not working. My mum was on the pill; never missed it and got pregnant with me.
Don't give up. Keep trying!!!!

You sound like you suffer from dysmenorrhoea like me but you don't need to take the contraceptive pill to stop the pain. I was on medication called Dysman 250 which really helped, My periods were regulated and the pain was gone...Ask your doctor about alternative medication rather than the contraceptive pill if you really want to get pregnant that much!
Good luck!
P.S- Here is a link that you can have a look at to get more information on dysmenorrhoea if you like: http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/articles/article.aspx?articleId=578§ionId=3202
