I live in the Detroit area and I see a lot of people reclined so far back, you cannot even see them in the drivers seat. I have to believe this is unsafe as the driver can't possibly have a full view of the road. Enlighten me!

This is a fad, the people you see doing this are trying to look cool, some feel as though it's more comfortable. If you see anything on the music video channel you can bet it will make it to the streets and plenty of people will try to emulate that style dress, car, home or fad (like driving with the drivers seat so far back, even though it may be unsafe) The more popular the group, the more people you will see doing it!

It is unsafe and it is bad posture; but I've seen so many people doing it all over the US. You can't do this during your road skills test at any DMV that I know of; but as soon as they get their license, kids throw that seat back and try to look cool cruisin'. And sadly, it follow them into adulthood.
