Its definitely India. But please try to have a prayer in your heart for all those Mumbai blast victims' families, flood-affected families who have lost their sole bread winner and all the families affected in the World. Pray for them and then light up the Diwali lights. Make a resolution to fight the menace called Terrorism. You will enjoy any place in India and remember to meet as many friends, relatives and well wishers alongwith your family. Share the above with them and you will definitely be having a wonderful and peaceful Diwali. Good luck!

India probably, but if you are from the UK try Leicester. There is a large Hindu population there and Diwali is a whole community thing. Great fun to be had!

If not India then Leicester. They even put up the Christmas lights for Diwali and then leave them there over Christmas.

The Diwali celebrations in Durban, South Africa are really great, but if you are with your family, the place doesn't matter.

Luton only has a very small Diwali celebration, at least it was last year. Small but cute! Try visiting this webpage, maybe it will help you find something going on in your area. http://www.bbc.co.uk/london/yourlondon/unitedcolours/features/diwali_index.shtml
(this lists the London area only though)

Any orphanage of children in India. Once I celebrated with physically handicapped children in an orphanage in Chennai. You could see real Diwali in those children's faces when they smile in your company!

The soundless show sponsored by sheriff of Mumbai is worth watching. The sky sparkles for about 3 hours without sound.

I was in Kathmandu when they were celebrating diwali, it was lovely - lots of people out in the streets, lights, candles etc. I would thoroughly recommend it.
