Hello dear!
Always remember that you are the most important person in the Universe, for you and some people! How could you loose self-confidence? Without you, the Universe is less important, for you the people around you and the Universe as a whole!

Believe in yourself first of all then others will believe in you, encourage yourself with all the thoughts of accomplishments that you have made.Always keep in mind that you may not have been sent to everyone but you are sent to someone! and never let people's negativity bring you down- do as performers would do-look above their heads. You see no one can really give you back your self confidence but you-others can only try.Being in a competitive environment it is always necessary to keep encouraging yourself because not everyone would like to help you be confident about yourself.

Confidence, I think is shterred when your trust in yourself is shatrred by negative thoughts by some body else or by your own wild thoughts. best is to work hard in the right direction, which you feel is right, and leave the results to the Almighty, He does justice to all. You will always be confident, because, you feel, that super power is by your side.Secondly, do every job with a genuine confidence in your abilities. There are bright chances of your success in every venture.

Every time you loose your confidence, ask yourself how you would do things differently in a similar situation the next time.
Affirmations can also help build self-confidence.

Self confidence is a state of mind. To be self-confident every time we face an audience or speak up in a meeting or have an interview, we have to be able to summon that particular state of mind smoothly and naturally. How?
First we should realize that we are human and we all share the same ups and downs, and that those who appear to be self-confident all the time have learnt how to go about their worries and lack of self-trust, and not because they never lose that feeling. Second, we have to believe in our abilities by asserting our positive self-image to our mind when we feel it is slipping from our grip of control. The self-image is built through self-talk. Negative self-images are built by negative self-talks. During self-talk, never say, "I am not weak" or "I am not afraid", instead, say "I am strong; I am capable" and "I am brave". Having established our positive self-image, we must not allow negative thoughts to slip in between us and our self-image. Nor should we let criticism affect us negatively.
Our health and physical conditions such as fatigue, not having enough sleep, and the like, affect our positive self-image. Habits are essential, too. The more organized, tidy, on time, the happier we become. Happiness boosts our moral which is essential in gaining self-confidence.
However, it all boils down to what we believe ourselves to be. We are what we think we are. Our subconscious will always adjust our self-image to what we think we are to preserve our sanity. So, we can trick our subconscious to adjust to self-confidence by the same method: think of self as confident and capable and in control. But don't overdo it or exert too much effort in regaining that state of mind. Too much effort will add extra burden to your mind and it will fail to cope.
Once you feel self-confident again, focus on how you feel deep inside, try to remember why and how and when that state of mind comes and goes, and send messages to your mind accordingly.
Help your mind so it can help you: don't burden it with unnecessary or unexplainable thoughts. Be reasonable rational and realistic.
Finally, don't be self-centered. Think outside the self when among others or in a meeting. Always focus on the subject you are up to. Be prepared. Very good planning adds to your success, hence, your confidence in the results, which in turn enhances self-confident.

I don't know if this would work for you because I don't know if you are a Christian but I'll give you what I do. I always pray to Christ that all will go well. When I feel myself being calmed by Christ, I regain my confidence.

Tell yourself that you are an accomplished academic and very able person in society. Go out there and take chances, maybe go work out and improve your self image. Main thing is having the right mindset.
