You could get a USB harddrive. I have one too and it's just as fast as the internal one. USB-2 is a lot faster, but read the specs of your laptop to make sure it supports it. Even faster would be a firewire connection, but they are much more expensive and I don't think it's worth it because your computer will still mostly read windows and program files which are on your C: drive.

Use an external USB drive hard disk

You may be able to upgrade to a bigger hard drive with one of these: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Notebook_Drives.html

Or just get one of these external drives:

Also, try cleaning out the "Temporary Internet Files" if using Internet Explorer...... I always make a note of checking that, as apparently the database file has a nasty habit of getting corrupted without you realising it...... folder size gets larger than you had to set for on the slider in Internet Options....... system just "hangs" if you try to delete it...... and remains big even if the folder shows as empty. I've had mine get to well over 4GB through that happening, when only had it set to 2GB

USB drives are cheap and easy to buy and to connect. From small (256Mb) up to >200Gb. Whatever you need.
Portable ones (no power needed) and stationary ones.
