The early rock n' roll Drug King perhaps, but that's about it. I do like him though. I don't think he is the king of anything however. Alot of what he did he just took off of black people and made it popular. Maybe he's the early rock king of thieves? I think Elvis has some good music, he could definetly sing and he was good looking in his young days too, but king, swing, bing.

I do like Elvis Presley a lot and yes he was the king as long as he was alive, singing swinging! I also feel that although he was the king The Beatles were not far behind they were head to head on capturing peoples hearts through their singing.

I'm sure if I had been around when Elvis first came onto the music scene, I, too, would have thought him fantastic. Remember the controversy when he was first on live TV? His hip movements was considered inappropriate for the times, compaired to today, it was nothing. He dressed flashy, he was a movie star, and his records hit the top of the charts. He did his duty in the military and was a big supporter of God and country. He did so much to open up the way for the more modern way of thinking of music. At the time, yes, I believe he was King, at least to the women who adored him and the men who wanted to be him. Since his rise and fall, there have been others who could also be called "King" of their types of music. Remember, a king doesn't reign forever, but will forever hold the distinction of once having been king. Oh, yes, I do like some of his music. "Cold Kentucky Rain" has always been one of my favorites.

elvis was not the king of anything....in my opinion there were other musicians of that time that had more talent than he did. I dont grasp the concept of him being called the king when more than one artist had a greater musical ability than he did his entire career.

He was the king. The king has been deader than hell for quite some time now. I think the torch/crown has been passed onto Ozzy Osbourne.
