The chairs are made out of thin aluminum so they'll hurt less and bend more easily. See also: trash cans and cookie sheets.

But it still hurts enough that half the WWE wrestlers can't even move without popping Vicodin like it's candy.

They do it for real, it hurts, but they are designed to take the shot properly. They try to take the shot on the back, so the force of the shot is spread all over the back. The shots to the head are real.

it isn't made out of real steel it is made out of aluminum so in bends more easily and it doesn't hurt as much. But it stil does hurt it's not like paper you can get an injury out of it but they usually don't since they practice it before the show.

Okay they hurt mildly... Not much at all though. Buy a steel tray from a shop near your house and smack it over your head. I've done it. That's how it feels!

they hit them with the flat part, it doesn't hurt, just stings a little.
