We have been told that a repair on a windscreen only stops the chip from spreading, but you can still see the repair. You know when your driving if there is something there your eyes always goes right to it. I thought that when a repair is finished you could'nt see anything ?

Repair companys differ but most is just drill down to the plastic laminate apply vacuum and flow in cyanoacrylic glue or some clear plastic filler. The repair almost disappears and the spider legs radiating from the chip go away. I know what your talking about you can't keep your eyes from looking at the spot. Perhaps this is true in the UK, but in the US, most windshield repairs are invisible. Has to do with the quality of workmanship.
