what are the different kinds of publicities? why are films publicized that way?

without proper publicity, very few people will know that the film exists and will go to the theatre to see it

Gives people the impression that they "just have to" see that film. More people go - more money comes in - more $$$ for the powers that be.

But - wouldn't that be a neat job.........
