well most think with the wrong brain and men are naturally born competitive

Males are hard-wired, if you will, to compete endlessly over next to nothing.

This was once a survival instinct which insured the human race would have genetic diversity (not to be confused with the kind of "Diversity" colleges hoot about).

The fixation on sex in males is directly related to the endless strife over rank, position, who gets to eat first, who has the biggest muscles, who has the best comic book collection, etc., ad infinitum; it is assumed (at least by the males) that this will give them a broader choice of mates.

Unfortunately, females can also be pretty dumb, and the males are often right about having more sexual opportunities with admiring females.

Sad, isn't it?

There are two kinds of people, one bunch are hierarchy-minded and see everything in terms of who's best, who's top dog, who's right and so on.
The other group are community or network minded, and they're into skill sharing, communication on an equal level and that kind of thing.
So the best thing to do is figure out which group you belong to, and spend more time with those people. The two groups really don't get along.

The problem is that a man who'se hierarchy minded and after a conquest will find it difficult to accept no as an answer. They see it as a slight on their manhood. So you may find them persistant and annoying, as they try to convince you to go along with what they want. They may even believe that you don't really mean it, are 'playing hard to get' or 'playing games' with them or whatever. It just shows that they see human relationships in the context of a game, with 'winners and losers'. Thats their problem not yours.
Guys who are only interested in one thing may have learned to pretend to be interested in you at first but will always have to show their hand at some point, because thats what they're after. So stick with what you want to do and don't get drawn into it. Let them go and find someone else who wants that kind of relationship.

Its a myth that men can't control their impulses. We may not be in full control over how we feel, but we are all capable of controlling how we behave as a result.
If a man was with his girlfriend and his mother walked into the room and shrieked "what are you doing?" he'd be able to stop himself!
Men are not animals. And this behaviour is not sex related. Its not true that all men are hierarchy minded and only concerned with power, and all women are community minded and only concerned with relationships.

It's the male mentality. It goes back to primative man (no jokes about us still being primative now!) where they competed with eachother for approval of potential mates, and then got to mate with the lucky female. It's our basic instinct to reproduce. To sew as many seeds as possible. Not all guys have a stong instinct to just get sex from a girl, but there are many who do. It's simply instinct. Look at the animal kingdom to see many examples of this, Bucks, bulls, wolves etc all compete for sex, and the alpha male gets it all.

Look for a sensitive guy, and your opinion will soon be changed.

Women are also competitive,
getting bigger breasts is a way to show it.
Thats a point of attention
Points are differed or shared both related to compete
But answering your 2 questions is related
one to another.

Your first peer pressure makes things competitve
from then on you apply it to other people or don't.
The person that gives peer pressure
doesn't mean that they're experienced.
In other words-
The cheetahs don't hunt usually because they're hungry
but usually for the hunt, & its no so different with humans
I could be talking to a co-worker (female) and another co-worker (male) gets jealous & starts to compete just because I talked to her.

guys who want sex are either commitment phobes or they just want a good time. men compete because its the animal instinct in them to prove that they are better than anyone else

Because in this society, men are taught to be competitive and some guys are jerks who can't handle emotions. Well, be a woman and be smarter than them and not give in what they want. Trust me, I had to learn the hard way even if they call you a b***h, its easier to call them bastards who aint gettin a piece of ya..

A lot of reasons:
- because it's what they've grown up to. it's in what they observed and learned from their environment
- because they believe they have enough guts to do so, they think very superior...but actually their weakness is Woman which logically is much more powerful
- because they're borne with it
- because it's what they believe why they exist in this world
- because their sex organs are too strong and they don't like or can't control it, they just go with it....
