R&B was originally Rhythm and Blues, these days its just a girly form of hiphop, shame really as it was a great way for artists to express themselves, where as now its just a base for 'Cool Pop' artists to make their money.
Rest assured, if some real Rhythm and Blues was released, all the current fans of the genre would not buy it

Rhythm 'n' Blues was originally a mixture of the blues (the real blues, sung by black guys on porches drinking bud) and an early form of rock 'n' roll (im a musician). It was around before Elvis ever recorded his first song and it eventually turned into rock 'n' roll. Im a grunge/funk/rock drummer and guitarist but i have no idea why this modern rubbish calls itself R 'n' B as it has no connection to the real stuff whatsoever.

R & B stands for Rythm & Blues. If you are a fan the best place to hear it is Beal Street in Memphis. If you get the chance to go, GO. While your there go to Graceland the home of Elvis, he sang a lot of R & B.

As far as i am concerned R&B has always been groups like The Rolling Stones and the Yardbirds etc and NOT all this shite music (R Kelly, Usher et al) that has hijacked the term R&B
