Sleep deprivision can do many strange things to a mind. Like seeing all kinds of crazy weird things. Once, I had gone without sleep for 3 days and I started hallucinating. I kept thinking I saw black bugs, seeping out of the walls. I also kept jumping whenever I saw someone, I assumed for a split second they were a giant black panther, out to get me! Until my rationality kicked in and I thought sensibily about it.

So what kind of crazy things have happened to you when you've dared to go without sleep for long periods?

I have been driving before trying to make it the next major city, trying to stay awake also.

But I saw the people in the billboards moving around, when you get up next to them you see their heads and arm etc... sticking out moving.

I snapped out of it when I noticed semi in front of me slam on brakes, but there was no semi there!!

Cool but scary. :)

I stayed up once for an entire weekend (Friday morning to 2 am or so monday morning).

I drove a lot during this time (dangerous, I know, I don't plan on ever doing it again) and there were several times I could swear I saw purple bunnies on the road or blue elphants in a feild. No joke.

Then I heard something weird in a song, needless to say I will never go that long again with no sleep.

My friend and I had a poker marathon for 3 days and after than we both had triple eyelids. Everything looked blur, the numbers are jumping across the cards, the kitchen light seemed to dim on its own, and I couldn't recognise my mum.

After it ended we both slept for 30 hours straight. Never thought humans can hibernate...
