Proposition 86 seeks to increase the tax on cigarettes by another $2.60. I'm sure everyone's in favor of further reducing smoking rates. Why not just criminalize it?

I'll tell you why! Because tobacco taxes are far too valuable to California now.

Per my incredible in-depth research, I've found that nearly 1 billion, yes, billion of the tax, doesn't go to eradicating tobacco or tobacco products. I've found that the taxes go to indigent people's medical costs, research at UC's and the lion share which is for public based hospitals, as to offset loses caused by these indigent people. (please note that illegal aliens are included in the indigent list) Also, this proposition is exempt from Proposition 4 which places a cap on the amount of money that can be taxed using SAL or State Appropriations Limit.*

I hate fish, but I smoke. Can we tax fish consumption? How about a $2.60 per pound tax on fish? I don't drink either, but it would sure be a cold day in hell before anyone put a huge tax increase on booze. I just have to ask, why am I and the other smoking minority being singled out to pay the taxes that everyone should pay?

If you watch only one conspiracy documentary ever, make it this one. This just might be the best introductory video out there. Understand that every claim made in this is fact, not opinion, no matter how wild it sounds. It's all easily verifiable through mainstream news archives and public documents.

Okay, we "sinners" have done our part by paying more taxes on booze and smokes. Now it's the government's turn to use the money wisely...or we can vote the SOBs out.
