The first issue, the clumsiness. I was told once that if you had a lot of ear infections as a child it can create scar tissue that effects your inner ear, which as you know, effects balance.
As for losing things, I am FOREVER doing the same thing:) I have to put extra effort into paying attention to things and constantly checking to make sure I haven't lost something. Last week I actually left my purse in the dressing room at the store!! i walked around for like 15 minutes before realizing it! Thank God it was still there and unharmed.
People like us just have to be a bit more careful:)

You should be checked out for MS and Carpal Tunnel and any other neurological diseases. Muscular Dystrophy also has many types. Not to scare you but this could be the problem. You don't realize you are not grasping tightly enough or picking your feet up high enough if you have neurological problems. Also, take the time to pay attention so you do not forget things. Mental practice.

Get a physical - there may be a back problem, problems with your hands (carpal tunnel or arthritis), weak ankles...often, there is a physical cause. Your absentmindedness could be due to just having too many things on your mind, or it could be a dietary deficiency - make sure you are eating the right foods, getting enough sleep, and taking the time to focus on what you're doing.

I used to be clumsy too. The only way to fix it is to actually mind your step and think ahead. If a cup is too close to the edge of the table, move it in, don't carry more that you can handle etc. etc. It takes a positive effort.

For me, clumsy girls are a turn-on. So embrace your clumsiness. And when Im around, be clumsy on purpose. Chances are that I'll ask you out. The actual explanation for your clumsiness is a mediocre and inferior nervous system.

self consciousness can be behind it , that's you focus on your actions too much..this can be solved by using distractions ..sing a song while walking..
dyslexia can go for losing things, sometimes needs medication others it works when practicing a reminder..
