You need a kick @ss computer to handle the Sims 2. Check the link below for the official system requirements for the Sims 2. Make sure your computer can handle it, remember once you open the package there goes your money.

Hi Grace!

You ask how long it'll take... the amount of time it takes to install the game has a lot to do with the speed of your system. A faster system may take about ten minutes.

For the more geekish questions you added... Here's the _easiest_ thing to do!

Just go to this site below and click on the game, and the test engine will let you know how your computer will do with the Sims 2 (I've tested several computers with this test and it is exactly right)===

In the black box, pick The Sims 2 - or the version in question

If you see any red marks after the test (I think you will) - it will tell you which parts of your machine need to be upgraded to play the game better.

I think it would be better for you to stick to Sims 1, which is a fantastic game all on its own too! I LOVE Sims 1 and still haven't done all the things I want to do in those games. =o

Maybe after the holidays, you'll probably have a better gaming machine and all the Sims2 stuff will be more accessible.

Good luck and happy Simming!! :)

It took me about 30 minutes or less to install the Sims2.. It depends on your computers age, and the system requirements whether it will slow down your computer or not. Works beautifully for me, no slowing or freezing, and i have a few expansion packs as well... Good luck!

My computing device did decelerate with this many classes even if the area which will reason major lag might want to be custom content. in case you could shop her a way from downloading content for her sport then you will be only wonderful.

Well, your computer must at least match the system requirements listed on the box. If it doesn't, then you won't be able to play it even if you do install it.

If your system maxes out the system requirements for the game, then downloading it shouldn't take 2 hours and should not interrupt game play that much.
