I think it was terrible, and I really feel sorry for the two men. I cant beleive the airline went along with the passengers.
Am I right in thinking that the bombers were/are mainly muslim? Surely not all muslims are asian??? There are loads of UK people who have convered etc, so stopping all asian people will not work!!!

Oh I think that it was a very bad thing, but it just shows how paranoid we are becoming and is there any wonder.
I have to ask myself though why did the airline not take the initiative and ignore those passengers?. No, I think that this action has played right into the terrorists hands.
And no it is not fair that all Asians be discriminated against, but I am afraid this is just the tip of the iceburg and will continue until this mindless government gets it's act together and puts in place realistic security checks. And implement the same system as they have in America, whereby the security staff at airports are directly employed by the government.
Do we realise that even some of the security staff at our airports have not been given security clearance themselves. What a bloody shambles and a sad indictment of this present government of ours.
Anyway who said life was fair eh?

Just heard about this, but need to know more about the circumstances. But unless they were contravening aiport rules and regulations, then it is totally wrong to prevent them from flying. Will get back to you once I have read a fuller report onthe matter!
Just looked up the article on the web. I have to say that it is more of a reflection on the ignorance of the several white British families who decided that they were terrorists. (and maybe a reflection on the mentality of people who take package holidays in Spain...)
It is very unfair for these men to have been removed and not allowed to return to the flight once they were cleared by security. But given the climate at the moment, Muslim men must be aware that they fit into the official current profile of terrorists, and they should be prepared to have extra attention paid to them. If the profile of a terrorist was that of a mid 30's white British female, then women in this catergory would be put out but should not suprised if they were"picked on". They could only legitimately complain if then they were held with no charge or evidence against them produced. Innocent until proven guilty, but a little understanding from all sides is needed to prevent this kind of vigilanti behaviour happening on a regular basis.
Of course it isn't fair to label everyone of Asian descent as a terrorist, and I think only really ignorant people would do that, some of the recent suspects are white Muslims so colour and race has absolutely nothing to do with it!

No it is not fair but I believe that the asian communities are not doing enough to tackle the extremists in their midst and that this behaviour is a natural reaction from the rest of society.
Also if you are Asian and you really hate the policies of your host country why aren't you using the political process to get things changed or moving to a country more satisfactory to you.
I don't see muslims complaining too much about the sunni insurgents murdering their shia muslim brothers. The hypocrites

Absolutely ! This is not fair. As long as western world has the power they will do this.
The other problem is the western world is only based on practical, logical and self-centerd. They are trying to learn the eastern wise knowledge, like yoga, meditation but instead of going to the essence of it, they are turning it towards their way,
Similarly they are doing here with the situation of terrorism. Instead of going to the route problem they are looking at it their way and creating more trouble for the the whole world.

No, it is not fair but I wonder what answers you would have received if it were possible to put the same question to the people who perished at the twin towers and on the trains.
Sadly the question becomes irrelevant if you were to ask it in Iraq.
When passengers, world wide, often travelling with precious family loved ones, become terrified of becoming the next victims of indiscriminate mass murder, where do you think " fairness " appears on their panic stricken drawn up list of priorities ? may I venture to suggest, nowhere !
There are answers but not here I'm afraid.

Well, if it was all the catholics doing things like that then I would be under suspicion because I'm white. So I would be stopped at airports etc. etc. How would I feel? First of all, I would feel outraged as I'm not a catholic (I would never conform to catholic views) and just because I'm a whitie I shouldn't be classed as catholic...So I do understand how those two blokes felt... In a way I do feel sorry for them, because they could have been hindus or buddhists....I think your passport should state your religion these days.

It's a case of Chinese whispers gone mad in grown adults.
One family's daughter though they were "acting strange", no doubt brought up on a diet of anti-Muslim hatred.
The rest of the supposedly educated Westerners went into a flap.
It's pathetic, ignorant and the two guys should have had the plane to themselves. Sod the rest of the stupid sheep. (BTW the BNP have called to have all Muslims banned from flying - check their website.)

It would be funny if it wasn't tragic. this level of paranoia suggests the terrorists are winning.
One caveat, however, tucked away in some of the news reports is the factoid that it was the men's behaviour that aroused suspicion, rather than just their Asian appearance, so I think I would need more details before reaching a final conclusion.
