I complain about the show all of the time simply because the show has no real substance. Compared to Survivor and The Real World there really isn't much going on. On The Real World its about people who have jobs and we examine their life outside of the house and then the plot picks up when everyone returns to the house vs. the people on Big Brother who just sit in the house and wait for an arguement to start. On Survivor there is plenty to do all day so that makes the show more interesting.

They probably complain because everywhere you look advertising or discusses the show... TV channels, Radio, Magazines, Newspapers...
But then, all you have to do IS watch an evening of BB, and you soon have things to complain about !!..
It really is cheap TV, and what's so fun about watching a bunch of joe public 'loonies' arguing and pairing up with each other - one good way to be put off your evening meal ! LOL. Ewwww!!

I think people don't like BB because of two reasons. The 'Reality TV' boom means that everywhere you look there is a reality program kicking around, and BB is the prime example of this.
The other reason is that BB has gone from having your average Joe in the house to having a collection of people who seem the most combustible and will cause the most controversy. I hold this view, as its no longer really a 'reality' program. I'm not saying that there aren't people in the real world like the BB contestants, just that most people don't act in that way. It also fosters a cult of celebrity for people that have done nothing more than make a fool of themselves and who will be quickly forgotten in a matter of months. Its exploitative and all a little cynical in my eyes...

I don't mind BB being on TV because I can choose not to watch it. What bothers me is that the popular media is inundating me with banal stories from the BB house. I don't care, and I don't want to know. That's why I complain, I feel like its being shoved down my throat for a large portion of each year, just like soccer, I hate that too.

I complain about Big Brother and don't watch it, but I've seen enough to know that it is the worst programme EVER made and that stupid B ITCH that hosts it (don't know her name) is horrible; she really suits the programme.

I know I watch (actually record and watch later) and my husband hates it. I think his major complaint is that it is on 3 times a week (at least the US BB7 that I watch here in Canada is).

I have been unfortunate enough to see some of BB while zapping through the channels.
A minute or so later I'll be watching anything but that crap.

I bet they watch it. I love the show. I'm totally bummed that Howie (BB All Stars) went home! Poor Janelle! She is all alone. I feel sorry for her!

Its plastered all over the media, you can't help but notice.
Saying that, I did watch half of the time (not towards the end when they conned everyone). I liked the drama with Shabaz.
