Albert Einstein, Physicist

Born: 14 March 1879
Birthplace: Ulm, Germany
Died: 18 April 1955 (heart failure)
Best Known As: Creator of the theory of relativity
Thanks to his theory of relativity, Albert Einstein became the most famous scientist of the 20th century. In 1905, while working in a Swiss patent office, he published a paper proposing a "special theory of relativity," a groundbreaking notion which laid the foundation for much of modern physics theory. (The theory included his famous equation e=mc².) Einstein's work had a profound impact on everything from quantum theory to nuclear power and the atom bomb. He continued to develop and refine his early ideas, and in 1915 published what is known as his general theory of relativity. By 1920 Einstein was internationally renowned; he won the Nobel Prize in 1921, not for relativity but for his 1905 work on the photoelectric effect. In 1933 Einstein moved to Princeton, New Jersey, where he worked at the Institute for Advanced Studies until the end of his life. Einstein's genius is often compared with that of Sir Isaac Newton; in 2000 Time magazine named him the leading figure of the 20th century.

In 1939 Einstein sent a famous letter to Franklin Roosevelt, warning of Germany's work on an atomic bomb and urging Allied research... Einstein was famously rumpled and frizzy-haired, and over time his image has become synonymous with absent-minded genius... The Institute for Advanced Studies has no formal link to Princeton University; however, according the IAS website, the two institutions "have many historic ties and ongoing relationships."

Einstein received the Nobel prize in the 1920's(if memory serves me correct) for his inspiring explanation of the photoelectric effect, since then his work in extending theoretical physics (mostly quantum) has been greatly appreciated by the scientific community.
However, he is most famous for his theory of relativity. In fact Special Relativity was described by him first and then came General Relativity. In those days this twofold theory was so drastic (and seemingly clashed with notions from quantum physics) that he received little recognition for it. To be blunt it was the equivalent of Copernicus' saying the earth rotated around the sun.
In due time however relativity was accepted and although it complicated the model of reality defined in theoretical physics its implications were undeniable.

Albert Einstein was famous for many things.

The most notorious being his famous rap style, vicious rhyming slang thrown over a phat hook.

His first single 'Its all relative B*tch!', hit the US charts back in Jan 1996, which put Alb spittin' lyrics over a deep west coast hook with signature production values coming from The notorious, Dr Dre. 'Its all relative b*tch' hit the top spots going quad platinum in the album charts, strongly promoted by his second single 'MC-Squared', which had Alb throwing his grimy skills over the top of fresh west coast flavor.

I hope this answers your question.

If that's who you mean. He's famous for lots of stuff but scientifically famous for the Theory of Relativity.

He was awarded the 1921 Nobel Prize for Physics for his explanation of the photoelectric effect in 1905 (his "wonderful year") and "for his services to Theoretical Physics."

Brain & it's usage..! He's so cusious over science inventions!

E = mc^2, the theory of relativity (Energy in relation with mass) made a boom in the science world! He got nobel prize for that! I think in 1985!

He played a leading role in formulating the special and general theories of relativity; moreover, he made significant contributions to quantum theory and statistical mechanics.
