Hello. -
Cause:
Dark rings around the eyes are a common problem. Eyelid skin is the thinnest skin found anywhere in the body. Consequently, the skin is relatively transparent. The darkness relates to circulating blood in the soft tissues beneath the skin. Some people believe it is actually pigment (melanin), however there has never been any definite proof of this claim. Chronic irritation, illness, poor nutrition, fatigue and many other conditions can accentuate these rings.
Conceal:
When covering undereye circles, keep three things in mind: color, consistency and technique.
Too light a concealer will exaggerate the problem, making the area look as if something was covered up. Choose a shade that is no more than one or two shades lighter than your skin color, and always avoid white. For those with darker skin, choose yellow-based concealers (try Physician's Formula brand concealer available at drugstores), which will counteract the blue in dark circles. Try mixing a bit of face lotion and concealer in the palm of your hand. Gently tap the mixture on the area under the inner eye only and lightly blend with your finger or a concealer brush.
Remove or Tone Down:
Research suggests that vitamin K, which has been used to diminish the appearance of bruises, can help to fade undereye circles. Try eating foods rich in vitamin K or using a topical vitamin K cream on the affected area (many options at drugstores).
Adequate rest, good nutrition, and overall good health tends to make the circles less noticeable. If you have been ill/are ill, they will likely go away once your illness has passed.
Good Luck.
Have a nice day. :)

yes it is due to lack of sleep and you should really consider using an eye cream to hydrate that area which would lessen the build up of dark circles

Get some sleep dude, if you can't and have to keep burning the candle at both ends, then make up is the only answer.
