"Voluptuous" refers to curves that are enjoyable to see. The enjoyable curves on a woman are usually considered to be the breasts, hips, and possibly the buttocks
In contrast, "fat" is curves that are all over and unenjoyable to see.
If your hips and breasts are well rounded, but the rest of you is thin or borderline fat, then you are voluptuous.
If you are covered with fat to the point where people look at you and think "That's a fat momma," then you are not voluptuous, but fat.

Being voluptuous means that you still look healthy in the clothes you wear. You can move gracefully and you don't get tired easily. You are healthy and live an active lifestyle.
Being fat means you are not graceful anymore, your clothes are baggy and you can see large folds in your fat pockets. You get tired easily and sweat alot. You stay indoors more then outdoors.

you can be voluptuous and sexy but not fat and sexy
fat is when the tissue starts to crack up and when the skin becomes bumpy

if you are active on a daily basis and if you watch what you eat on a daily basis then you are voluptuous...voluptuous means curvy, but your body is still firm.
plain ol' fat people look the part...they're flabby, eat poorly and do not exercise.
nobody can blame you for the body you "own", but you can be blamed for how you treat that body.

voluptuous is when you can still see the curves and you find clothes that accomodate the curves, fat is when you see the rolls hanging over the too tight clothes

It depends on who is looking at it and how their view of another is perceived. My partner would say im voluptuous, yet the man up the street could quite happily say i was obese.....it depends on how people view things....
