It could be a possibility, at some point down the road. Look at King Kong, The Italian Job, Robin Hood. Than you have cases where the story is the same but the name is different. I am going to use movies, and books for this part. The Truth About Charlie/ The Charade, Alice In Wonderland/Neverwhere(Book), Romeo and Juliette/Donnie Darko, etc... Shakespear said it best when he said that all the stories have been told.

Well there is talk of George Lucas re-releasing all of the films in 3-D, so that could be classified as a remake.

Padawan, much to learn you have!

Blockbuster movies, classics must become, before franchises reworked are. Takes much time, this does! Expect such a work I would not, without many decades passing you see. Recall you not, how many decades passed 'ere a new "King Kong" saw we?

Expect a new series soon, I would not.

Read thou a book, padawan!
