Just saw the movie V for Vendetta last weekend in which the hero tries to blow up the English Parliament as a symbolic act to bring about change in the fascist government in his country(it's no surprise he gives it away in the beginning)in honour of Guy Fawkes. Since we are slipping into racial hatred and big brother law it has led me to ask: What historical feat would you be willing to undertake to bring change to society? please be as specific as possible

I would start a message that would be passed on from computer to computer, so that eventually it would reach every computer on the planet, starting with children. Then with everyone hooked together, we would boycott businesses one by one until all the wealthy people are extinct and all the third world sweat shops are closed and all the starving people are not dying from all the lear jet fumes from all the "celebrities" jetting in to "help".

And of course cut back the population. Planet of the "Pakrabbits" has got to end.

Look at the worst societies in the world today – those with the most suffering and poverty. Invariably, they are societies that are untouched by the cornerstone of enlightened beliefs – those of freedom and equality. Take North Korea. There is no freedom of any sort, and the country lives abject misery, with many citizens actually starving to death yearly. Yet South Korea, which was exposed to western ideals and beliefs – is a prospering nation. The same ethnic background – yet very different outcomes.

This is not to say western civilization is or has been perfect – far from it. The stain of acts like slavery hurt it today. Yet, enlightened beliefs led to the end of slavery, and created suffrage for women (which many parts of the world still do not recognize).

As Churchill said, “Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others ever tried”.

this is going to get denounced as overly harsh, but what the hey. we need controlled breeding to reduce the world's population to pre-industrial levels (300 million or so if i remember correctly). the world was doing fine until we had both fossil fuel use *and* 6 billion people using it all at the same time

if we cut back the population (maybe over a few generations) the world would be set. my historical action will be implementing this system

Julius Ceasar, as he tried to create change by providing for the people even if it was against the majority of the ruling class.
