The human mind is very clever, very inventive, and good at solving problems. It is not very good at understanding very large, very distant, or very complicated things. Simplification is one of the ways that people solve problems. We don't like to not know something, if we think there is an answer. The string theory and ideas of other dimensions of space and time are just ways to get at some aspect of reality that we can not yet understand. They are all mathematical gymnastics.
Accept the reality of infinity, forever, and not knowing how it all works. Find a quiet place away from the city lights and sounds, where you can see the un-blurred, unpolluted, sky. Enjoy the stars. Enjoy their beauty and mystery. Some of the light that you see started on its journey billions of years ago. Accept it. Its enough. We don't need a megaverse, parallel universes, other dimensions, or unknown mysteries. This Universe has enough for us, more that we will ever see or comprehend even if human kind lives a million years.
;-D I miss the Arizona sunsets, the desert sky, and the mystery of the echo-less hoot of the owl. If you need to study string theory, make a cat's cradle and give it a try!

There is only one universe because universe means everything basicaly... But yeah there could be other places like ours who knows if there is one is bigger or they are all the same and will merge or stay away. I believe in soul theory but its pretty close to string theory and as for other dimensions of space and time you can enter them when ever you sleep but when you return you cant retain the information because we live in a 4 dimensional world and the other dimensional world isnt understandable by our bodys. I have schizophrenia and I have seen other worlds / possible futures *real or not* and I also have made a universe in my mind by building one backwards. The one I made in my mind was not perfect but it did show me how ours might work and what the future might be like. I dont think professor stephen hawkings answers are valid untill he becomes more child/artist like. Hope this helps.

While it is possible that multiple universes may exist, this is likely to be an unprovable hypothesis.
The universe incorporates EVERYTHING that can act upon or be acted upon by other objects in our universe. If something lies "outside" the universe, it cannot (by definition) interact with anything within the universe.
So, if you can detect it (detection always requires some form of interaction) then it is part of our universe. Conversely, if it is not part of our universe you cannot detect it nor interact with it.
The important thing to understand is that if you could connect our universe to another one you are permitting interaction between the two, so the "second universe" would simply be a strange extension of our own universe and not actually a separate universe. Only if a universe truly is separate and distinct (allowing no interaction) could it possess a different set of physical laws.
Basically, it's an interesting idea mathematically, but we can never prove or disprove the hypothesis.

the great bang round 15 billion years in the past. The universe remains increasing because of it. The furthest issues away are shifting away at nearlly the speed of sunshine because they have been accelerating the longest. contemporary astro-physics thinks that the great bang became one million of many in a universe endlessly or beginning. If there is sufficient count number interior the universe to halt the boom and opposite it by ability of mutual gravitational attraction the universe might want to finally fall down right into a singularity and convey a huge bang all once more beneficial. This difficulty might want to offer us a universe without beginning or end even if it would want to oscillate between the great bang to the great crunch to the great bang, advert infinitum, cycling once each and every 22 billion years or so. this extra count number that they are looking for is prevalent as darkish count number and there is mounting evidence that it does exist in large sufficient parts to reason this oscillating universe. How huge is it? The furthest products that we can see are round 12 - 15 billion user-friendly years away. it truly is, on the speed of sunshine (7 circumstances around the globe in one million 2d) it would want to take 12 - 15 billion years to get there. the user-friendly we are seeing from those distant products has taken 12 - 15 billion years to attain our eyes it truly is 3 circumstances longer than the Earth, solar or photo voltaic equipment has existed. So the universe is larger than huge, it truly is more beneficial than the human mind can particularly understand. wish this sparks your interest some more beneficial

When it comes to universe. The first think to consider is, what is the real definition of universe? We can only term universe as a very large body above which there should not be anything bigger.
so universe is one.But as you have mentioned about life-death-life circle.its still a mastery. In many of our religions we believed that our soul enters into another dimension after our death. And there are theories which says that Time which is also a dimensional entity plays an important role in understanding about Universe.
But at last i still believe we have to know a lot regarding Space time relationship

There is only one universe that you or I am capable of living in. Your "personal" universe is everything that is within your range of observation and probability. What that mean is that everything you can not imagine existing and everything you can imagine existing that obeys the basic rules of physics is part of this universe; it's the summation of everything and the space that everything exist in..
But, that do not eliminate the notion of a "multiverse". There are as many theories about the existence of universes outside this universe that it is impossible to give due credit to them all. But, I will hit on two that I like. One of them deal with the principle of energy conservation, in which energy (and by extension, matter) can not be lost. If matter and energy is sucked into a black hole, it must go somewhere. One theory dictates that that energy and matter would form the catalyst of a new Big Bang, starting a new universe in the Megaverse. Another theory is that for every option we are capable of choosing, there is an universe that corresponds to it. That means there are an infinite number of ourselves out there; some of destitute, some are prosperous, but most are living out their lives, doing the things we wouldn't do. I kind of like that.
However, all of this violates Occam's Razor to the extreme. For those of you that do not know what Occam's Razor is, it's science's "Keep It Simple, Stupid" bumper sticker. Actually, the theorem states "entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessitatem", or something should not be multiplied beyond necessity. Basically, if you have multiple situations with shared variables, the simplest situation tends to be the correct one or the one most likely to be correct. According to the Razor, the existence of multiple universes needlessly exaggerate the problems that the notion of a single plain of existence solves. It's fanciful nonsense.
However, since all of this is untestable theorems, and since--by definition--one can not escape one universe without causing irreparable harm (everything you do affects someone, which affects someone, which affects someone; your absence will hurt the world), let's just say that there are multiple universes, and on one of them I am king of the world government. Yeah, let's say that.

By definition, our universe is everything there ever was, is now, or ever will be. There are any number of theories that the universe is part of some "mother universe," or is only one universe among an infinity of other universes, etc., but there's absolutely no scientific evidence that any of these ideas are valid.
Your questions about life-after-death should perhaps be asked in another category. Personally, I've always liked to imagine that after death we kind of become one with the universe, instantly able to go anywhere in it we wish.
