This has been, and will be an arguement starter for a long time. When considering whoo will be the dominate force in gaming consoles, you have to look at the demographics that they play to. Nintendo at one time was #1, then instead of growing with their customer base, they stuck with those players between the ages of 10-15. PS learned this and decided to go with the higher age group, they tend to play to the 18-35 crowd, along with XBox. PS has always outsold XBox almost 2 to 1, they have a strong fan base and solid game line up. XBox is currently going to be running at a lower price, and many people like the fact that you can modify the XBoxes rather easily. It looks like Nintendo is trying to make a comeback with the Wii, but with a lack of older fan base and not a lot of games geared towards an older crowd, it may be difficult. Even though the price is a little steep for my taste, I think PS3 will still be #1 because of it's game line-up and strong fan base.

Xbox360 will proably win, because it can be UPGRADED. The PS3 can't be upgraded at all, either version. They are trying to force people to get the $600 version so they aren't even including HD capabilty in the $500 version. To be honest they are ripping people off plain and simple. As to Blu-Ray, that's not as great as it sounds. After all what if HD-DVD is the one that makes it instead of Blu-Ray. Now you will have a system that will become outdated as far as playing the new DVDs. Also according to gaming mags the one guy with Sony is trying to say that the PS3 is a computer not a gaming console. On top of that I have heard them say it is a Blu-Ray player first. Why? Simple because they are so expensive and Blu-Ray players are still a little more. So with gaming seeming to be an afterthought then the PS3 will will have a problem.

All 3 will be close and only time will tell. The Xbox 360 isn't doing so well and charges more money for games. The Playstation 3 has a good future but it will kill your wallet. Lots of promising games, like Heavenly Sword, I think. The Wii, or renamed Revoluton is supposed to be cheap and a motion sensitive controller. And the reward fo most creative system goes to the Wii. Me? I'll get all of them.

Still going with Nintendo. Retroactive is the way to go. And let's not forget the GBA is still the handheld of choice, even with the PSP. I'm still bitter about the $600 price tag on the PS3, and the $60-90 range for the games. That's more than I'll be spending on textbooks next semester. Probably more than I'll spend on food. X-box is still a distant 3rd. It has the hardware, but not the games, much like a Mac computer.
