They tell you to avoid tuna since it's high in mercury as long as you're breastfeeding, and it passed through the breast milk. Just heard a news report on this.

The FDA recommends that pregnant and breastfeeding women limit their consumption of tuna due to the high mercury content. But you can buy minimal-mercury tuna. I buy it and it's very good. They sell it at JigsawHealth.com.

ok not to belittle that quetion but if a nationally government program such as wic has that on their list of things for a b reast feeding mother to get what do u think I however would make sure it is sealed in water and not oil

no it is not a good choice for a breastfeeding mother due to high mercury levels..... most fish isn't good for pregnant women or nursing mothers......
