Hi,

My girlfriend has pcos and did conceive after visiting a infertility specialist and she was 41 when this happened so please don't give up. It took her 3 tries.
Now there are many things a Dr. can try. There is a diabetis drug (I'm going to butcher this word sorry) Googapage (spelling is wrong sorry) that can regulate your overies. This drug stops your ovaries from making the zillion little cysts that it's doing now each month. This drug does have some side affects to you but, so does almost all infertility drugs. If you chose this remember you don't have to stay on it for life.
It's very difficult to become preganant with your overies doing this over drive.
Once you go to a good specialist and they have you on a good program they discuss with you and your husband the best methods. One is to stay in bed for 20 minutes to 30 minutes after sex with your hips on a pillow.
Remember if you don't succeed the first time with a specialist that's really common and doesn't mean the procedure failed. I feel your body needs to get used to all this new stuff getting pumped in. Plus these drugs have a lingering effect sometimes and one month you can't do a infertility treatment due to cysts (everyone gets them from these drugs) keep trying the next month with happiness.
I know it hurts watching others have something you want so much. Hang in there and visit the Pro's that can really help you.
Also please check your state to see if it's a Mandate state for infertility treatment. If it is your insurance Co. has to pay a part of the treatment if not all. NY is a good one, Ohio is so so it just depends on the state.
Good luck!!!

I can understand what you're going through. These are very sensitive issues. The best would be to consult a good doctor. Som people for various reasons take time to conceive and some just hot bulls eye the very first time. Everybody is different in terms of the way their bod is built, their social lives, their food habits, etc.. Don't lose heart, it's just a matter of time. Doctors give you drugs that ease conceiving, which happened in the case of my wife. She had to undergo medication, generic drugs with no side effects and some cleanup of her system. And then she conceived, due for her delivery next month. Have patience and you'll rejoice.

I truly sympathise! ALL my friends are either pregnant or have babies and i am depressed about it. The best thing i done was being referred to a sub fertility counsellor (be great if you can find one) You can still pick up signs of ovulation its just about learning your bodies cues, do you ever notice a discharge like egg whites? thats a sign that you will ovulate in a day or two, other symptoms are feeling hotter than usual and a pain in your side. E Mail me if you fancy chatting to someone in the same boat and i will tell you what the counsellor has been advising me (i dont really want to discuss it here!) Good luck x

Hello,
Go and buy an ovulation kit. You will pee in a cup and put this strip in it (looks like a pregnancy test). It will tell you about 36 hours before you ovulate. Do this right after your period (start w/ kit). Then when it tells you its time- start trying.

Also, after your next period- try and have sex every 2-3 days (no breaks in between) and that should help- then you will have to be having sex sometime around ovulation

Good luck

To conceive you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.

After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.

After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.

Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 3 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.

I feel ya... its very depressing for me to even look at a baby. I have also been trying for 2 years and am also irregular. The best thing I have been told is to do it every other day or every 3rd day... something about the sperm "building up" or becoming more powerful.

have your husband as soon as he ejaculates have a small mouth
full of water to spit in you hold you legs and but up so that the sperm and water don't run out .the water helps the sperm get to where it needs to faster so you have a better chance of conceiving.

this info came from my wife's doc. and it did work for us..

The more you stress the harder it will be. If possible take time off work have a holiday together.
