I wake up early when ive been drinking, i dont wake that eary though. I dont know if its because you dont sleep properly when youve drank or because i feel ill and need to sort myself out!! Try drinking a pint of water to combat dehydration and take some paracetamol before you go to bed. Also make sure you have eaten as your blood sugars become low after a drinking sesh so this might be a reason. It could also be something you drink, if you drink shorts with a mixer then maybe it has a stimulant in like caffeine or just lots of sugar. Or alcopops even as they are full of all kinds stuff!! Happy sleeping x

Alcohol has a lot of calories in it...ergo a lot of energy. I have had this problem, it's like your blood sugar spikes or something, and you wake up with more energy than you know what to do with. I often would wake up sweating, even at Christmas time when the house is cold. The solution is a) obviously, don't drink so much and b) remember to drink a glass of water for each alcoholic drink, be it beer, wine, or whatever. This keeps your system hydrated too, and cuts down on the evil hangover next day.

dehydration, drink at least one pint of water before going to bed. Better still when on a night out alternate between alcohol and soft drinks and you won't feel as drunk or wake up at 4am (Except to go for a pee)

Alcohol (like caffeine) is a diuretic, meaning it causes your body to use up water faster and build it up in your bladder. Waking up at 4am probably means that your body needs you to urinate.
