Tell them both the name of a good marriage counselor and you only work there. Helping with their problems are not part of your job description and you're puts you in a lose-lose situation. Now, punch out and go home.

Reason why boss's wife complains is boss is always working...

Reason why boss can't cook dinner when available...he's to tried or he can't cook...

I hope they give you a pay raise.

Why don't they just talk to each other instead of using you as a referee for their problems? Glad it helps to keep you a job though...lol

Just say something non-commital.
I am a boss and have made mistakes like this.
It puts a strain on employees and is wrong.
Nice question.

Hahah...lol! I feel for you. Why don't you just get them both in one room and play the mediator. That would save you from going back and forth between them.

It is very unprofessional for your boss and his wife to discuss their personal issues with you. You have grounds for a hostile work environment lawsuit.
