Indian traditional values are still alive despite the families going nuclear, fast.
Don't ask about the condition of old age homes, or for that matter any other institution, for the apparant and too familiar reasons.

Indiaan culture is tightly coupled culture. We have lots of family values still intact. You can still find joint families and big families very common in small towns/ cities and villages in india, which covers really big population in india. So, as a part of joint family we still take care of our olds and they do not need to go to old age homes. Old age homes are not very common in india except some in some cities.

the condition of old people is pathetic with the changing social environment, the dependance of their advanced age for moral, financial and physical needs, push them to a pitiable state of living. Except for a few old age homes most others are money minded business centeres oevrlooking human service.

Pathetic. India has unimaginable poverty and even youngsters cannot find work to make a decent living and so old people without any family often have nowhere left to go and nobody who cares. If there is a hell on earth it is in India.

its also depends on the nomey that the old people have if they have money they can live in better manner i dont think for freee they are not many old age homes
