I am thinking about getting a Bank of America checking account with the "keep the change" program, but I'm not sure if it would do me any good.
I was also wondering about how good Washington Mutual is with their checking/ saving accounts.

I'm a college student and the only time I would use the checking account would be to pay bills.

As a former Bank of America personal banker I say Bank of America only thinks of you as a number. However they are pretty good to students and offer many programs like student accounts, student loans, student credit cards and lots of locations. Also their online banking with billpay is the absolute best. I still use it. Keep the change is a nice bonus because they match 5% of the extra change every year up to $250.

If you use your card like a debit card, then keep the change is decent, but they cancelled my "keep the change" as soon as there was an overdraft fee.
Lots of ATMs, maybe, but see if there's a local bank that is competitive.
Don't know about Washington Mutual.
