If you're saying grace.........it's religious. Who else could you be thanking?

Thank you for respecting the many different cultures and religions that may be at your dinner.

If you is asked to say grace or is obligated to say it then you can do a silent grace, just let the guest know first very politely, and those who are religious can pray at that time.

Or you could just quote something philisophical or poetic (dont say "quote, unquote") that fits in with the occasion or event and then close by saying something like eg. " thank you for coming, now let's eat".

If non-religious I think a "toast" of sorts might be more appropriate...some thing in the order of:

"May I have everyone's attention....I just wanted to say how thankful I feel to have such a ....(wonderful/fun/great)... bunch of ppl gathered together tonite to share this meal. Thank you all for being here."

Good luck! : )

Just say you're thankful for the food and the company. You don't have to add God to any of it to have a nice grace.

" I'm thankful for the food that we have , and the friends I have to share it with."

Everyone holds hands for this one. I saw it in a movie once.

"One hand to give, one hand to receive, as we come together in unity, may our hearts, minds, and spirits be strong."

Um... If it's non-religious... what's the point? Seriously.
