If you have the original Operating System of Windows you can just insert the CD and follow the instructions.

You can boot in DOS with your CD.

Well .. you might not be able to do that .. you need to also have Dos installed to enter it :)

I presume that app might have killed your bootsector .. if you have windows xp or 2000 you can try and boot the setup cd .. and enter the rescue console .. you can use a command there (they are all displayed when you enter the rescue console .. or type help ) named something like fixboot (if I remember correctly) .. that will repair your boot sector and your windows install might be working again

It depends a lot on what you actually tried to do with the partition commander app

If F8 didn't work you can try F12 or F2 and go into setup to try to see your drive again. You could also put FDISK on a flash drive and try to boot up and repartition your hard drive. Or also you could use an external CD-Rom to boot from with one of the versions of Windows CD in the drive.

Using NERO, create a dos boot disk on a CD (see www.bootdisk.com). You'll be able to boot from the CD into DOS. You'll need to either use another computer for that, or use a Linux LiveCD to boot into Linux from a CD and burn a bootdisk.

you need to boot from your windows CD, press DEL or F10 when booting and boot from your CD.

if you can get hold of it - Mini PE would be an excellent boot CD to use.
