Bell Helicopters was almost bankrupt but thanks to the Vietnam War, they ended with healthy profit margins. RMK-BJR (a subsidiary of Halliburton) earned a billion dollars from dredging Cam Ranh Bay but they had dozens of other projects going...oh yeah, they supplied the infamous tiger cages used to torture prisoners, many US businesses earned billions there...and many of the stockholders are wealthy politicians today. Don't read the claptrack put out by the media....find out your own facts. Look at Al Gore, if he were so much an environmentalist, why has he waited so long to make it known....could it just be a political ploy?

Because there are fortunes to be made fighting terrorism. Its a sad fact of life. However, seven out of ten self-made millionaires are Realtors, so I say your odds are much better doing that instead. ;)

Fear. People are scared and they want protection and security. Fear is a great motivator in getting people to act. They may not want or be able to get a gun to protect themselves and even a gun won't be able to protect you from terrorists who are better armed.

Instead people are willing to pay in money, time or effort in order to get a feeling of security and safety. In our society, we are constantly bombarded with messages to spend our hard earned money. I can't think of a better reason for spending money on security and safety unless it was for our basic necessities of food, water and shelter.
